A phenomenally moving middle-grade animal story about acceptance and friendship Rhys is starting secondary school, and he has a plan to reinvent himself and make new friends. But when his puppy, Whirly, escapes from the garden on his watch, it’s all Rhys can think about.

As he searches for Whirly in Greenwich Park, Rhys soon glimpses a familiar big, black Labrador in the shadows – Worthington. Comforted by his old friend, Rhys soon slips back into old habits: sneaking Worthington out for early-morning walks and hiding him in his bedroom. And for the first time in a while, everything feels a bit better.

Then other dogs in the neighbourhood start disappearing. Realising that Whirly is in danger, Rhys must count on all his best friends to help find Whirly, and bring him home.
