Arthur B. Reeve — called the American Conan Doyle — introduced Craig Kennedy, professor of chemistry at Columbia, who cracks his cases with a lie detector, a seismograph, a spectroscope, and a portable X-ray, expounding the apparatus as he goes.
Half the instruments in these stories did not yet exist in any police laboratory on earth; within twenty years most of them did. This edition presents the complete and unabridged collection, newly typeset and illustrated with 49 full-page color plates.
