The Alpha 7R VI completely overhauls the image pipeline of the A7R V, with a brand new 66.8 Megapixel fully-stacked Exmor RS CMOS sensor that allows the 7R VI to deliver both exceptional resolution and detail, as well as the exceptional speed and responsiveness that wildlife and fast-action photographers crave.
Processing has also been overhauled, with the new BIONZ XR2 image processing engine providing the processing speed that the A7R VI requires, and enabling the full suite of AI Autofocus tools that underpin the Alpha system’s legendary autofocus performance.
Beyond the core technology, the Alpha 7R VI is designed as a supremely refined tool, with unstinting attention to detail throughout. A new battery system, improved ergonomics, 4-axis tilt screen, self-illuminated buttons and beautifully detailed screens deliver a photography experience that truly satisfies.
Rapid Capture Thanks to a massive upgrade in sensor readout speed, the A7R VI provides triple the maximum drive speed of its predecessor, at 30 frames per second, at full resolution RAW.
In addition to this jaw-dropping headline, improved sensor readout speed also enables major upgrades to AF tracking speed, with 60 AF/AE cycles per second providing massive improvements to AF hit rates and focus tenacity.
Flagship Image Stabilisation system The Alpha 7R VI utilises an upgraded 5-axis in-body image stabilisation system which delivers up to 8.5-step [1] stabilisation.
An updated stabilisation algorithm paired with a high-precision gyro sensor provides detection and control right down to the single-pixel level, ensuring crisp and clear images, even on longer lenses at dawn and dusk.
Depth and Detail The Alpha 7R VI’s Exmor RS Sensor is supported by the latest advances in Sony image processing technology, including an expanded 16-stop dynamic range during mechanical shutter capture, and powerful extended RAW processing modes that allow multiple RAW image captures to be combined into a final image with enhanc
