Opening your find
Pull up a chair. If you've ever led an initiative, you already know that the most important moments rarely happen in the project plan. They happen in conversations. In difficult decisions. When a sponsor leaves. When priorities change. When a team finds its rhythm. Or loses it. Creating Initiative is a collection of those moments.
It's written the way the best advice is usually given: across a table, through stories, by someone who's been there before. Experience has been my companion on that journey. These are the conversations it gave me to pass along. After enough stories, you begin to notice the patterns.
That's where this framework began. • Why the project plan is rarely where initiatives are won or lost. • The patterns that repeat across every initiative-once you see them, you'll find them everywhere. • How to navigate when the sponsor changes, the priorities shift, and the plan no longer matches reality. • What experienced practitioners know that methodology books never quite hand over. • A way of seeing organizational dynamics you won't be able to unsee.
